Here You Leave Today And Enter The World Of Yesterday, Tomorrow And Fantasy. Welcome to Progress City's first official test drive meme! This game is a panfandom jamjar set in a flux dimension inspired by Disney Theme Parks (particularly Walt Disney World in Florida) and the original concept for EPCOT (a city that would connect to the theme parks). Whether you're looking to join us or are just here to play around for a little bit, we have a few prompts below for you - but you're also free to come up with your own!

Prompt A Whatever you're doing, wherever you are, you find a vintage-looking ticket. The next time you blink or close your eyes for any reason, you open them and find yourself somewhere else - Progress City's Ticket and Transportation Center. You have no idea how you got here, and definitely don't know how you got this weird thing on your wrist... You'll learn, eventually, that Progress City and it's world-class themeparks are a popular tourist dimension across this universe. People can get in here very easily, but for some reason, that unremovable band on your wrist isn't allowing you to use their transporters to get home. To compensate, you'll be offered a job in the parks and free housing for the duration of your stay. Is that something you're willing to take?

Prompt B While you're here, you might as well spend some time around the theme parks in your downtime. It's easy enough to get to them - the city offers free 24/7 monorail and peoplemover transportation to each park, and you also get a free annual pass for yourself with your stay (lucky you)! If you're at all familiar with Walt Disney World, these four parks will seem...remarkably familiar to you. But there's little subtle differences here and there that that make this seem different - and the ones in charge will seem confused by the concept of a "Walt Disney World". Must be a thing about different dimensions. Nevertheless, you're still going to have the occasional bit of free time here, so there's plenty to see and do here across all four areas. Go ride some rides and eat some Dole Whip, you crazy kids.

Prompt C With the housing, you also get offered a job by Progress City's mayor. Maybe you decide to take it, maybe you don't, he's not gonna kick you out of your apartment unless you deserve it. But this poses a good way to get some actual money. You'll be matched to a job around the resort - hopefully one you enjoy. You could end up working in the parks as a ride operator, serving food, managing a shop, working security, or ending up as a pool lifeguard. There are a number of possibilities here, and you can always change your job later on if you find one that may suit you more.

Prompt D Over time, the thing on your wrist changes. Namely, it'll start taking on new colors, designs and occasionally icons that reflect your character's personality and appearance. You'll find that by concentrating you'll be able to utilize your band to... cast magic spells, of all things. These also seem tailored to your character - summoning weapons, creating projectiles, putting foes to sleep? It seems that no two bands are alike when it comes to this. ...Occasionally, you'll spot one or two small ink blot-like creatures scurrying about the city or the parks, creating an inky mess and leaving a small amount of chaos in it's wake. Those don't seem advertised. Perhaps they'd be good to try out your new abilities on, or maybe you'd prefer to practice a little bit first.

[So for someone who has been unwillingly whisked to another world, Minnie looks... rather calm about the whole situation? She finds a bench, sits, smooths down her dress, and then waits, looking round. Anytime someone offers her a room, a job, etc, she puts up a hand.]

Oh, no thank you! I'm going to be rescued any minute now. I just have to wait right here, and my musketeers will come for me. Maybe you've seen them? An angry one, a tall one, and a little handsome one with eyes the color of pure love and romance?

[... oh boy.]

[Minnie's current favorite ride? The monorail! Cue endless Simpsons jokes here. Anyway, she's on her knees, looking out the window.]

My goodness, what an efficient way to travel! I had no idea the commoners had gotten so brilliant! They simply must be rewarded for their cleverness.

[Eventually she's convinced to kill some time with an actual occupation. Her job? Food service? There's just a tiny problem.]

There you go! I hope you enjoy it! ... So this is what commoners feel when they help someone. How wonderful!

[Aside from being politely condescending, she's NOT CHARGING ANYONE for the food. She's just giving it all away for free! Let her know what's going on, or get some free grub for yourself?]

[Attack of the ink monsters! She has somehow climbed on top of one of those artfully decorative recycle bins, grabbing the ends of her dress, and shrieking. The original damsel-in-distress!]

[Y'know, one of the benefits of being here is that everybody's on a level playing field. It's not something Sheldon is used to, and he is loving it. It's even better when it's someone self-entitled like this.

People?? Thinking they can boss him around???? He'll show them.]

Wow.

[Leaning against one of the nearby food stands casually, just watching with an expression he's trying real hard to keep indifferent-looking, but it's hard not to look just slightly amused. By 'show them', of course, it means just causing minor inconveniences rather than... well, actually doing anything threatening.]

That looks like a real problem you've got there.

[She hears the voice, looks up - Oh! Thank goodness! Surely this kind stranger will lend his assistance!]

Yoo-yoo! Oh, thank goodness! Please, could you get these things... whatever they are... away from me?

[He weighs his options for a moment or two, wandering slightly closer (though not enough to attract the explicit attention of the ink monsters) and pensively turns the band around on his wrist a couple of times.]

Depends.

[The royalty thing (she looks like royalty, at least, and sure acts like it) doesn't really mean anything here, but-- you never know when that connection could come in handy. He really takes his time posing the next question, though, never mind that she's under attack by ink creatures.]

Of course I can, but... it's not exactly easy, you know, and it would take quite a lot of my very valuable time. [It really wouldn't.] But I'm sure you're willing to offer some kind of reward?

[Upon consideration he's not even sure what he'd want here. But. As long as she's willing to make an offer it's fine. He just likes having an advantage for once in his life.]

[Of course, Minnie, naive and spoiled as she is, still thinks the tiara means something.]

Yes, of course, I'll reward you, and knight you, just pleeeaaase!

[These things are so ICKY! They're going to ruin her dress! And maybe even hurt her!]

[Honestly he just really likes the sound of being knighted, even if it doesn't actually mean anything. He'll take it.

The fire card is probably the one that will do the least amount of damage to... well, her, so he aims it low at the creatures so as to not singe her dress. Or at least not singe it terribly. It does actually take a few times for all of them to either scatter or vanish, and he looks kind of impressed that it actually works. He hasn't really tried fighting before now. He's been too busy playing around with launching fire at random objects instead.]

[Now she's done it. She's given him the chance to be smug. Even though he finally gets closer, he doesn't bother offering to help her down from the recycling bin.]

[Phew! Thankfully she's unharmed, and begins to climb down. Once she's done, she applauds! Drink it up.]

Hmmm... normally to knight people, I need to have the official sword for it... Well, we'll have it all done at the castle! Once my musketeers arrive and get us home.

[He'd love to but first he has to get over the fact that he's absolutely never been in a situation like this before. What's a compliment.]

[Wait, she's not going to fall for anything if he says that.]

And these musketeers of yours. How long have you been waiting here for them, exactly? Just trying to get a time-frame on when this knighting can occur and all.

[Which, admittedly, is disconcerting. But that doesn't mean they aren't on their way!]

But I'm sure they'll be here any moment! They just might be a little confused... You see, I've certainly never been to this part of the kingdom before.

[Yes, she thinks she's still home. Sort of. She doesn't get out too much, in case you couldn't tell.]

We just have to be patient, Sir Plankton.

[Hark! This Guy appears, putting his hand on the face of whoever she was talking to and pushing them aside.]

Three gentleman of valor, you say?

[Minnie just blinks, but then pushes her hands together, hoping he knows of her heroes.]

Why, yes! That's exactly what they are! Have you seen them?

[He paces around her and the bench thoughtfully, considering her carefully.]

It could be those three fellows, I suppose.

IT COULD BE!

[And she watches him all the while, back and forth, back and forth, okay she's getting dizzy.]

... Well? Is it them? Is it those three?

[Pulls out a huge cigar, lighting it carefully, ruminating in deep consideration.]

[All right, now this is getting annoying. She coughs, trying to wave the smoke from her face.]

Have you seen them or not?!

Ohhhh, I've seen those rapscalions alright! Skipping about, not a care for the common man! [Puff puff.]

It makes a decent, hardworking citizen wANT TO DRINK!

[Something about how this... mouse lady? Eh, she's had stranger in her adventures with her friends. In any event, something about her attitude rubs Yui the wrong way, even as she's trying to come to grips with it herself. She comes near after hearing one of those refusals, and lets herself speak in a small voice.]

You know, there's someone that I'm sure is looking for me, too. Four princesses, all wonderful people I trust with my life. Part of me wants to depend on them, to wait for them to come for me... but I can't. I can't count on them to save me forever. I have to be able to stand up on my own two feet.

[She glances at the lady again, her expression a bit stormy.]

I don't know if it's the same way for you, but I can't wait to be saved. I won't ever reach my dreams like that! I have to keep moving forward!

Blink-blink.

At first, along with a head-tilt, that's all the reaction that the heroic speech gets. It seems to take her a moment to process it, and when she does...]

Princesses saving people? Isn't it usually the other way around?

[Yeah, THAT'S what stuck out to her. To be fair, she doesn't sound snotty or uppity about it. This is genuine shock and surprise to her, like finding out santa claus isn't real.]

Usually, but... these princesses are special, I guess. They protect people reaching out for their dreams. Their strength is used in the service of the weak, of those who keep fighting until they can't go any further. I- well. I can't say I was ever one of them, but I helped them in the small ways I could.

[Her own smile starts to return as she remembers her precious friends. From the outside, it seems evident she's either a bit of a fangirl, or devoted a bit heavily to the cause or to someone that's part of it.]

I guess I learned a little something from them after all, though. About not giving up, no matter how dark it seems.

[Still needs to process this! Someone's a tad sheltered. And by tad I mean VERY.]

Princesses protecting people... I've never heard of anything like that before! They must be in some very amazing kingdoms... Yes, I think I understand now!

[She doesn't, but effort's being made.]

Yes, it's because their kingdoms are made up of such good girls like you!

[Yui is a bit sheltered herself! She'd understand. Kingdoms, though- well, she only knows one of those. Do fairy lands count?]

The Hope Kingdom is an amazing place, to be sure, although most of them are not originally of that kingdom... it's a bit of a long story. They shine much brighter than me, but I do my best.

What kind of kingdom are you from, if I may ask?

Hope Kingdom... No, I've never heard of that one before.

[But! These kind of questions means it's time for a proper introduction. She slips off the bench, and formally curtsies.]

I am Princess Minnie Mouse of the Disney Kingdom.

[The formal introduction startles her a bit, and Yui almost automatically slips into old patterns, curtsying despite herself.]

Goki- ah, sorry. Pleased to meet you, Your Highness. I'm Yui Nanase. I'm... well, not from a kingdom proper, but I suppose that doesn't much matter at the moment. Not in a place like this.
