| Here You Leave Today And Enter The World Of Yesterday, Tomorrow And Fantasy. Welcome to Progress City's first official test drive meme! This game is a panfandom jamjar set in a flux dimension inspired by Disney Theme Parks (particularly Walt Disney World in Florida) and the original concept for EPCOT (a city that would connect to the theme parks). Whether you're looking to join us or are just here to play around for a little bit, we have a few prompts below for you - but you're also free to come up with your own! | |||
| Prompt A Whatever you're doing, wherever you are, you find a vintage-looking ticket. The next time you blink or close your eyes for any reason, you open them and find yourself somewhere else - Progress City's Ticket and Transportation Center. You have no idea how you got here, and definitely don't know how you got this weird thing on your wrist... You'll learn, eventually, that Progress City and it's world-class themeparks are a popular tourist dimension across this universe. People can get in here very easily, but for some reason, that unremovable band on your wrist isn't allowing you to use their transporters to get home. To compensate, you'll be offered a job in the parks and free housing for the duration of your stay. Is that something you're willing to take? | |||
| Prompt B While you're here, you might as well spend some time around the theme parks in your downtime. It's easy enough to get to them - the city offers free 24/7 monorail and peoplemover transportation to each park, and you also get a free annual pass for yourself with your stay (lucky you)! If you're at all familiar with Walt Disney World, these four parks will seem...remarkably familiar to you. But there's little subtle differences here and there that that make this seem different - and the ones in charge will seem confused by the concept of a "Walt Disney World". Must be a thing about different dimensions. Nevertheless, you're still going to have the occasional bit of free time here, so there's plenty to see and do here across all four areas. Go ride some rides and eat some Dole Whip, you crazy kids. | |||
| Prompt C With the housing, you also get offered a job by Progress City's mayor. Maybe you decide to take it, maybe you don't, he's not gonna kick you out of your apartment unless you deserve it. But this poses a good way to get some actual money. You'll be matched to a job around the resort - hopefully one you enjoy. You could end up working in the parks as a ride operator, serving food, managing a shop, working security, or ending up as a pool lifeguard. There are a number of possibilities here, and you can always change your job later on if you find one that may suit you more. | |||
| Prompt D Over time, the thing on your wrist changes. Namely, it'll start taking on new colors, designs and occasionally icons that reflect your character's personality and appearance. You'll find that by concentrating you'll be able to utilize your band to... cast magic spells, of all things. These also seem tailored to your character - summoning weapons, creating projectiles, putting foes to sleep? It seems that no two bands are alike when it comes to this. ...Occasionally, you'll spot one or two small ink blot-like creatures scurrying about the city or the parks, creating an inky mess and leaving a small amount of chaos in it's wake. Those don't seem advertised. Perhaps they'd be good to try out your new abilities on, or maybe you'd prefer to practice a little bit first. | |||

Jaune Arc | RWBY
[He'd been swept into a strange new world AND his sword had been confiscated along the way. That weapon meant a LOT to him darn it! You can't just take away a guy's heirloom sword that he'd JUST gotten upgraded. At first, as Jaune roams the park, he's a little sulky. However, it's hard to stay glum when you're in a place like the Magic Kingdom. They don't really HAVE places like this where he's from, but he knows it's the exact opposite of the kind of place that would attract Grimm. Jaune snags some dole whip and decides to just suck it up and enjoy himself for a little bit. What's the worse than can happen?
He thinks, as he misjudges the curb and goes tripping over...dropping his dole whip in the process. Luckily he manages NOT to go face first into the concrete, but the loss of the ice cream is almost worse.]
Aw man. That looked really good too.
Prompt D
[Jaune wasn't so oblivious as to miss that his band was changing to a white band with gold lines--a design similar to his armor and shield. There were a lot of things about this place that still made him curious, but so far he'd been accepting of them.
After all, any time he asked he never got good answers anyway.
He's in the middle of a lunch break in Fantasy Land when he notices the creatures.
For a split second he fears the Grimm have somehow gotten to this place as well. But, no, these creatures lack some of those distinct features. Jaune jumps up and watches as the ink blots start swinging from horse to horse on the merry-go-round.
They're startling children and it looks like their making a mess of the multi-colored horses to boot.]
Hey! Cut it out!
[They peer over at him and one of the creatures jerks forward, throwing some inky paint Jaune's way. The boy dodges, rolling out of the way, and when he pops back up he's somehow summoned a sword to his hand.]
Woah! Where'd that come from?
[No time for that now! More ink blots have decided to make Jaune a target and are throwing FOOD at him now. Jaune yelps, ducking the food, and then popping back up. These guys are nothing compared to Grimm, he smirks slightly.]
Okay. Now THIS I can handle.

now, if there's anyone that can understand jaune's level of tripping-over-everything, it's this boy right here — and he'd seen the whole thing, watching the whole thing unfold in that kind of comical slow-motion that foretells what's going to happen before the next few frames even progress, and. the loss of ice cream just cannot be tolerated! it just won't do! ) Dude! That's tragic. ( he feels for you bro, he really does. that really was tragic. ) Want another one? I'm buying.

he's also kind of like. uh. the butt of everyone's jokes ( sometimes literally ), but that's just what happens when you're labeled the goofball of the group, and you just roll with it. )
Oh I know I don't have to, but I just can't condone the loss of a treat like that. It cannot stand.

except yes. completely. totally. maybe they'll even figure it out if they stay in each other's company.
that smile, however small is enough to bolster him a little more; it had been kind of a shot in the dark to begin with, because not everyone accepts help so willingly ( coughhackcoughkeithkoganeCOUGH ) and it's nice to see that there are some sensible people around these parts. )
Oh, sure thing. I'll never turn down free food. ( he extends a hand for shaking, because that's just how you introduce yourself properly. right? right. ) I'm Lance, by the way.

But no, these things aren't the same, and the boy fighting them is similarly different. Particularly the fact that he is a boy; that wouldn't really work, back home. Steeling herself, she makes a snap decision, and starts to run toward the merry-go-round with a grim, somewhat determined expression. As she passes, giving the battle a bit of a wide berth, she shouts to the young man.]
Keep them busy - I'll try to clear the merry-go-round before someone gets hurt! I won't be much help fighting them, but this much, I can do!
[And off she goes. Hopefully she didn't pull their attention shouting like that.]

[Unfortunately, her shouting out to him pulled the creatures' attention away from Jaune. He needed it back...so he swiped at one of the nearest creatures with the newly summoned sword. The creature popped like an inky balloon and Jaune now had their undivided attention]

[A piece of pie whizzes past her arm, smashing into a horse, and for a fraction of a second she hesitates, but it passes quickly enough as she notices the boy surge into motion. That urges her back to her own task, and after a moment most of the kids are not only running away, but running in a direction that doesn't put them close to these... whatever they are. Just one more left, but the poor little girl is stuck and not getting down, and sobbing all the way. Yui runs over, hoping beyond hope she doesn't attract attention, and starts to help her down.]
