Here You Leave Today And Enter The World Of Yesterday, Tomorrow And Fantasy. Welcome to Progress City's first official test drive meme! This game is a panfandom jamjar set in a flux dimension inspired by Disney Theme Parks (particularly Walt Disney World in Florida) and the original concept for EPCOT (a city that would connect to the theme parks). Whether you're looking to join us or are just here to play around for a little bit, we have a few prompts below for you - but you're also free to come up with your own!
Prompt A Whatever you're doing, wherever you are, you find a vintage-looking ticket. The next time you blink or close your eyes for any reason, you open them and find yourself somewhere else - Progress City's Ticket and Transportation Center. You have no idea how you got here, and definitely don't know how you got this weird thing on your wrist... You'll learn, eventually, that Progress City and it's world-class themeparks are a popular tourist dimension across this universe. People can get in here very easily, but for some reason, that unremovable band on your wrist isn't allowing you to use their transporters to get home. To compensate, you'll be offered a job in the parks and free housing for the duration of your stay. Is that something you're willing to take?
Prompt B While you're here, you might as well spend some time around the theme parks in your downtime. It's easy enough to get to them - the city offers free 24/7 monorail and peoplemover transportation to each park, and you also get a free annual pass for yourself with your stay (lucky you)! If you're at all familiar with Walt Disney World, these four parks will seem...remarkably familiar to you. But there's little subtle differences here and there that that make this seem different - and the ones in charge will seem confused by the concept of a "Walt Disney World". Must be a thing about different dimensions. Nevertheless, you're still going to have the occasional bit of free time here, so there's plenty to see and do here across all four areas. Go ride some rides and eat some Dole Whip, you crazy kids.
Prompt C With the housing, you also get offered a job by Progress City's mayor. Maybe you decide to take it, maybe you don't, he's not gonna kick you out of your apartment unless you deserve it. But this poses a good way to get some actual money. You'll be matched to a job around the resort - hopefully one you enjoy. You could end up working in the parks as a ride operator, serving food, managing a shop, working security, or ending up as a pool lifeguard. There are a number of possibilities here, and you can always change your job later on if you find one that may suit you more.
Prompt D Over time, the thing on your wrist changes. Namely, it'll start taking on new colors, designs and occasionally icons that reflect your character's personality and appearance. You'll find that by concentrating you'll be able to utilize your band to... cast magic spells, of all things. These also seem tailored to your character - summoning weapons, creating projectiles, putting foes to sleep? It seems that no two bands are alike when it comes to this. ...Occasionally, you'll spot one or two small ink blot-like creatures scurrying about the city or the parks, creating an inky mess and leaving a small amount of chaos in it's wake. Those don't seem advertised. Perhaps they'd be good to try out your new abilities on, or maybe you'd prefer to practice a little bit first.

It hasn't, huh? Didn't know you'd miss me that much.

[She tries to make it obvious that she's teasing, but the situation is still starting to weird her out just a bit. Scrooge never acts like this, and two weeks isn't a terribly long time to go without hearing from one another. He may be-- well, old, but he's far from being emotionally compromised over... anything, really? Much less something like this.

She's just gonna try to not act visibly suspicious. For the moment, at least. Let him get accustomed to being here and then she can grill him for why he's acting so weird (Della does think far enough ahead about these things to have some degree of tact, on occasion). So, uh... topic change, maybe? She's going to attempt to keep the optimistic tone up, in any case.]

So... how's Don doing? Would've left him a note, but-- well, you don't really get a chance to, right? Those tickets work pretty fast!

[He's still processing this interaction so he only manages to catch the last of what she said.]

Tickets? Y'mean this?

[Scrooge pulls his crumpled ticket from his coat pocket, showing it to Della. Annoyance starts to creep back into his features.]

I don't recall paying for a trip to lie about doing nothing but-- [He waves his cane around hazardously in every direction.] eat popped corn! Cotton candy! Elephant ears! Whatever that is. Doesn't sound appetizing in the slightest.

Yep, that's the one!

[She's not even remotely surprised that Scrooge already isn't a fan. And honestly, she can't argue with some of his points but she can at least clear up some of it.]

Oh, don't worry, you didn't pay for anything. And it's not exactly a vacation, you have to work. It's just like home, except-- well, I guess the food is kind of hard to get used to...

[Oh he definitely isn't a fan of that. He's about to have one of his infamous McDuck Tantrum™ (Copyrighted Do Not Steal)]

I have to earn me millions back working in retail?! That'll take years! I won't have it! I won't, I won't, I won't!

[Probably should've seen that coming, too. She holds her hand up in the most placating gesture she can manage.]

No, don't worry, Uncle Scrooge! It's not real money. Here, look--

[She checks a couple of her pockets before finding a small amount of very fake-looking currency and handing it over to Scrooge.]

It's just, you know, to buy food and stuff. The apartments are free.

[Tantrum postponed for another day.]

Hrm. Well there goes my plan in running this place out of business. How is fake money going to get us out of here? Has no one figured out a way out of here yet?

Not really. Actually, I think a couple people have gone home for a bit, but I'm not sure how. I don't even think they're sure how, every time I've tried I just end up back in the middle of the city.

[Somehow she doubts that's going to stop him from attempting to drain the place dry anyways, though.]

But it's not all that bad. You just have to get used to it! And we're great at rolling with the punches, right?

[She has a point there. They are great, and a decade of distance can't diminish their fighting spirit not one bit.]

You're right, nothing can bring us down when we're together. That being said, there's nothing stopping us from tearing this park apart to get home. Now... you're telling me others have been able to go home successfully?

What, and ruin a nice place like this? I don't think we have to go that far, Uncle Scrooge.

[She's mostly teasing though, regardless of how serious he was about the statement. She at least appreciates that his mood is up for the moment.]

And I'm pretty positive, yeah! We're just not really sure how it works. It's kinda an on-and-off sort of thing. It either works or it doesn't.

Fine, but as soon as we figure out a way back home I'm suing the owners for all they're worth! They want to keep me from making money, then I'll make sure to bleed them dry!

[She makes a fair point, though. This place is just too good to consider running it down. He has the means (and money) to buy it from the owners.

he looks at the colorful band around his wrist quizzically.]

And I don't suppose this little contraption has anything to do with the transportation properties of this land, no?

Right. You do that, Uncle Scrooge.

[She knows he can and will and that there's no changing his mind on the matter so it's easier to just humor him.

She glances at her own band, and then just shrugs.]

Y'know, I'm not a hundred percent sure how these work, either. They do lots of stuff. I think they've got something to do with-- oh, the cards! There's these magic cards that do all sorts of stuff. I've got one that... no, wait, I traded that one. Hm.

[She's only actually got the fire one on her at the moment and doesn't. Really want to give him a heart attack by setting something on fire right now.]

Well, anyways, I'm sure you'll figure it all out. You've got time, right?

[Maybe a joke in poor taste considering he's stuck here for a bit now but. It's fine.]

Yeah! Some sorta magic, anyways-- I think. It's sort of hard to get concrete information around here? But it's loads of fun, I bet you'll love it when you get the hang of it! Never too late for an old dog to learn new tricks, right?

[Scrooge stands up to do a couple of jogs around the bench, a few push-ups, and the kicker was a basic stretch but then an audible crack is heard and he stands stock still.]
